John Oro was a former friend of Lady Hestia Evans who decided to take the treasure of the Greeks for himself. He foolishly asked to be granted the ability to turn all he touched into gold. He was granted this by Zeus, an ability which ultimately resulted in him becoming a life-sized golden statue, later to be melted down. His comments and annotations are found in Mythology: Greek Gods, Heroes & Monsters. He left a large amount of information on mythology alongside a quill and a packet of paper in the back of the book and a note from him about Mr. Patakis, Lady Hestia Evans, and himself.
