Gilgamesh was one of the Sumerian people, many of whom were vampires. To dissaude humans from this danger, he constructed the mighty, impenetrable Sumerian city of Uruk. His turning is somewhat depicted in the Epic of Gilgamesh, before his turning he was friends with a "wild man" (Lycanthrope?)named Enkidu. After Enkidu died he was brought back as a form of ghoul.
In the epic it explains that Gilgamesh sought out a way to conquer death itself by seeking out an immortal hero. This immortal "Hero" was, in fact, the first Belial.
- Gilgamesh's destruction is never stated.
- Gilgamesh is asumed to be among the first Progeny of the Belial.
- Gilgamesh's turning is depicted in the epic.
- Because the majority of Sumerian people were vampires it is believed that they may have been the tribe that brought the Founders back to life.
